Chapter 1 ~ Cupid Rhymes With Stupid!

"...that sorry little...!"

"Ralf" Florian said, exasperated as usual. "Calm down. What happened to our little American blogbrat?"

"She went to a Madonna costume party--" Ralf started.

"And she's a sorry little what!?" Florian interrupted.

"Nein, nein und nein!" Ralf answered. "She was on her way home from the party, she had a great time and all, and then guess who felt they needed to talk."

Florian raised both eyebrows. "...oh no... don't tell me he..."

His best friend sighed and shook his head. "You know, there's gotta be something I can do for that girl. Except she's so far away, and you know we're no airplane sort. Yet still... armer Sonnenschein. Diese arme junge Dame."

Fritz's voice echoed from another office--"OH MEIN GOTT! Ralf!!" He then ran into the office where Ralf and Florian were. "Did you read Sonnen's blog--she... her boyfriend..."

Ralf sighed. "You mean her exboyfriend, Fritz?"

Henning then arrived into the building--"Hallo folks, I've returned..." But he quieted down when he looked at his fellow Mensch-Maschinen. "Er, was geschah gerade hier?"

Florian sighed and glanced up at Henning. "Sonnen muss die Verwirrung des Seins aushalten einzeln, wieder."

Henning shook his head. "Sheesh... when is Cupid ever gonna stop being a sorry little..."

"Henning, let. it. go..." Fritz chimed in.

""Ja but, how many times has this happened..."

Ralf simply shook his head and finished reading the blogpost, unamused as Fritz and Henning got into a heated debate, and Florian simply watched on.

"Aww, but Miss Sunshine! c'mon! It'll be fun!"

"No, there ain't no chance in hell I'm going to this thing."

"Hey, I'm going. I don't wanna go to this alone--I want you to come with me."

Jenn sighed as she cleaned another tray while talking with her coworker Nicole. The grill worker wanted to attend a Singles Night at a local club, and she wanted her favorite Crew Trainer to go with her. Except, said Crew Trainer wanted nothing to do with. She was only 36 hours into her single life, and was still a bit upset about the whole mess that ensued. The last thing she needed was to be thrown into a drama with a Singles Night!

"Nicole, if it makes you happy, then fine. I'll go" she finally said after a moment of thought.

"Yay!!" the grill worker cheered as she hugged Jenn. "You're the best, Miss Sunshine!!"

Jenn sighed with a laugh, and shook her head. In the back of mind she felt it was only a set-up for another relationship failure, and she'd just gone through one mess and didn't need to end up in another.

"And anyway, it'll help take your mind off things" Nicole added, slightly disrupting Jenn's train of thought as she returned to the grill area. But Jenn simply looked at the stack of clean trays, lined and ready to go. Maybe Nicole was right--it could take her mind off of things.

Yet just because she would accompany one of her good gal-pals to a Singles Night didn't mean that she herself would be properly busy trying to play the flirt. She still had to sort everything out with her ex, and she wanted to focus more on her work and the few, strong friends she had that were by her side in all of this.

*DING!!*

The Crew Trainer blinked, snapping out of her train of thought. She had an order to take and, as she began inputting the order into the system, she was unaware that in Germany, meanwhile, four German musicians were about to embark on a surprise mission to the States to cheer her up...
